What The Lace Front Wigs Is

A lot of people have been asking this so I thought I’d write a post to explain exactly what a lace front wig is.

A lace wig or as it’s also known, a lace front wig is a type of wig constructed with a sheer lace base. Their unique construction allows for the maximum natural look; these wigs are rumored to be practically undetectable. Lace wigs are built with either synthetic or human hair and can use lace throughout the wig (full lace wigs) or only in the front (lace front wigs). Pricing very much depends on these factors. Full lace, human hair wigs are obviously the most expensive. The cheapest option is a synthetic lace front wig. They may not be as high quality as a full lace human hair wig but they’re still extremely natural looking, very comfortable and don’t weight as much as normal wigs.

This kind of wig is, more often than not, glued around the entire perimeter after trimming the lace a little bit. This allows for the maximum natural result possible. However, there are glueless lace wigs that use combs or other ways to secure the wig on the scalp.
A lace front wig is far more delicate a product than monofilament wigs or most other types of wigs for that matter. However, they are way more natural looking than every other wig out there. Lace wigs need to be properly taken care of, need to be stored when not used and carefully shampooed (first apply shampoo on the hand, next on the wig), carefully dried (avoid exposition to the sunlight, only use a towel to dry them).
Lace front wigs come in a wide variety of types (and blends of types; i.e. synthetic-human hair blend), sizes, colors etc.
